Unless otherwise stated, your service will be with any stylist level or beauty therapist as decided by the management at Vanity Lounge Hair, Beauty & Tanning.
Some offers may be subject to availability.
Some offers carry a stylist, beauty therapist, date & time restriction. For example, some offers or discounts will exclude Saturdays and may not be at peak times.
Vanity Lounge Hair, Beauty & Tanning management have the right to withdraw any offer at any given notice period.
If you are new to hair colour or you have not had a colour application with Vanity Lounge Hair, Beauty & Tanning in the last 12 weeks, you will need to have an allergy alert test a minimum of 48 hours prior to your colour application appointment.
Vanity Lounge Hair, Beauty & Tanning require at least 24 hours’ notice if you have to cancel or re-schedule an appointment.
If you want to re-book your appointment we will require payment up front.

Spray TanningPREPERATION

Here’s the definitive run-down of the top ten tricks recommended by spray tanning professionals to help you achieve a deep and flawless fake tan.

Achieving a beautiful sunless tan without mistakes is easy when your skin is properly prepared for the treatment. Your spray tanning appointment itself is quick and can be completed in as little as ten minutes which allows you the freedom to prep your skin to suit your schedule. Preparations can be done in advance and will smooth out the skin to give the best base for your spray tanning product.

1. Buff away dry skin before treatment with a gentle natural exfoliator. This will make your tan last much longer by revealing new skin.
2. Wax at least 24 hours before treatment, ideally 48 hours before to allow the pores to close.
3. Shave at least 24 hours before treatment and apply a rich moisturiser to replenish dry skin.
4. Moisturise generously the day before, ideally overnight. This will prevent dryness and provide the perfect tanning base.
5. Rinse off any products, perfume, oils, moisturisers and make up before attending your spray tanning appointment.
6. Dark, loose cotton and jersey fabrics and dark underwear without tight waistbands are ideal to wear before and after your spray tan. Some of the guide colour can be easily removed by tight fitting clothing so it is best to keep clothing loose.
7. If you are new to spray tanning, a patch test before your treatment is always recommended to ensure the tanning formula is suitable for your skin.
8. Take some hair ties along with you if you have long hair to keep the back of your neck and shoulders free.
9. If you have to run any errands after your spray tan, you can take deodorant to apply afterwards once your tan has set.
10. Applying nail polish to fingers and toes will help to protect the nails from any discolouration from the tanning product.

Spray Tanning while pregnant??

It’s generally considered safe to use fake tan creams and lotions during pregnancy, but it’s probably best to avoid spray tans, because the effects of inhaling the spray are not known.
The active ingredient in fake tan is dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This is a non-toxic substance that reacts with cells in the outermost layer of the skin and produces a brown pigment (colour) called melanoidin. As the DHA isn’t thought to go beyond the outer layer of skin, it isn’t absorbed into the body and can’t harm your baby.
Even though there are no known risks to your baby from using fake tans during pregnancy, there is a risk you could have an allergic reaction to them. This can happen because the changes in your hormone levels can make your skin more sensitive than normal. If you do use fake tan, always test the product on a small area of skin first, to see if you have a reaction.

MicrodermabrasionPREPERATION

PRE- MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Condition skin with high quality products using AHA’s for several weeks prior, and stop two days before your treatment. Use gentle products with minimal activity prior to treatment. Your esthetician will write a home treatment guide for your use before and after the treatment.
Do not shave or exfoliate the day of the treatment.
Schedule waxing appointments 5-7 days prior to your treatment, 14 days for sensitive skin.
Avoid sensitizing products with artificial fragrances, harsh preservatives and dyes.
Drink plenty of water. Hydrated skin is healthy skin.
Be prepared to use high quality sun protection every day!
Get a signed consent from your medical professional prior to your appointment –if there is any question about interactions with medications or sensitive health conditions. This treatment is often a good option for pregnant or nursing women, as well as other conditions.
Best results are achieved in a series of 3 to 6 sessions and can be alternated with skin rejuvenation / chemical peels. Schedule according to the needs of your skin with your esthetician’s recommendations. A single treatment may also be scheduled.

POST- MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT FOLLOW-UP INSTRUCTIONS

Avoid sunlight – light exposure without sunscreen will result in undesirable pigmentation. (freckles and patches)
Apply sun protection SPF 30 every 2 hours for the first 48 hours, even if you don’t plan to be in the sun.
Be gentle with your skin. Do not use exfoliating products or acne treatments for 5-7 days.
Recovery time is usually 1-4 days and this treatment can be performed within days of big events like weddings.
Do not wax over treated area for 5-7 days, or 14 days for sensitive skin.
Avoid products containing alpha hydroxy acids for 5-7 days.
Use home treatment program according to your esthetician’s instructions.
Avoid products with artificial fragrance and dyes.
Drink plenty of water. Hydrated skin is healthy skin.
Peeling is often invisible and takes place when you shower or cleanse, similar to losing a tan. If peeling is noticeable, do not pick at flakes or help them flake off. Moisturize instead.
